Milaap ("we", "us", "our") is a privacy-first platform for Punjabis across Europe, accessible at milaap.eu. For privacy-related questions, contact us at hello@milaap.eu.
We collect information you provide when creating your account and profile, including your name, email address, age, city, country, profile photo, and optional profile details such as faith, caste, education, profession, interests, and lifestyle preferences. We also collect usage data such as invites sent, connections made, and profile views.
We use your data to provide and improve our services, show you relevant profiles, send important account notifications, process payments, and keep our platform safe. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
Your name and profile photo are hidden by default and are only shared with other users after you mutually accept a connection. You control exactly what information is visible on your profile through your privacy settings.
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers located in the European Union. We use row-level security to ensure your data is only accessible to you and users you have explicitly connected with. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never store your card details on our servers. When you upgrade to Premium or Aura, Stripe creates a customer record linked to your account so we can manage your subscription. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
We use the following types of cookies: Essential cookies (required for login and session management — the platform cannot function without these), and Analytics cookies (optional, used to understand how users interact with the platform). You can accept or decline non-essential cookies via the cookie banner when you first visit. You can change your preferences at any time through your browser settings.
As a user in the European Union, you have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to processing of your data, and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@milaap.eu. You can also delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your personal data, messages, and connections are permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
We use the following trusted third-party services: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email delivery), Stripe (payment processing), and Anthropic (AI-powered features such as suggested opening messages). Each provider has their own privacy policy and security standards.
Milaap is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through a notice on the platform. Continued use of Milaap after changes means you accept the updated policy.
